1. INTRODUCTIONS
Scope 1.1 This Privacy Policy explains how Blueinc Technologies, Inc., operating as Travel Nurse Houses (“Travel Nurse Houses”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses and protects Personal Data. It applies to the privacy practices of Travel Nurse Houses on our website located at: https://travelnursehouses.ca/privacy or the various associated websites, platforms or applications (collectively and each individually "the Platform") but does not include Personal Data relating to employees of Travel Nurse Houses in such a capacity.
Consent 1.2 By visiting or using the Platform, You consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure and transfer of your Personal Data as set out in this policy. In some cases, we may ask You to provide explicit consent if we intend to collect, use or disclose your Personal Data otherwise than as indicated in this Privacy Policy, however sometimes your consent may be implied through your conduct with us.
If you do not agree 1.3 If You do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy You should navigate away from the Platform immediately, not conduct any transactions on the Platform, and uninstall our application.
Revisions 1.4 This Privacy Policy is current as of the “Last Updated” date which appears at the bottom of the page. Your continued use of the Platform after any change of our Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of the revised terms of this Privacy Policy. Travel Nurse Houses may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as required to reflect changes to our privacy practices. Travel Nurse Houses encourage You to periodically review this page for the latest information on our privacy practices.
2. COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA
What is collected at account set-up 2.1 Travel Nurse Houses collects your name, email address and a hashed password of your selection (or, if You sign in with Google or Apple, the details that provider gives us), your phone number if You choose to give one, and the date and time of creating your User Account. Each time You sign in we record the IP address, the browser or app used, and an approximate location (city and country) worked out from the IP address, to protect your User Account and to tell You about sign-ins from a new device.
Collection through third parties 2.2 You may register for or sign in to a User Account with Google, or with Apple in our mobile application. If You do so, You authorize us to receive your name and email address from that provider, consistent with your settings there. If You use Apple’s “Hide My Email”, we receive a relay address that forwards to You instead of your own address.
Use of information 2.3 Travel Nurse Houses uses the information it collects to administer your User Account, to enable your access to the Platform, verify your identity as a licensed User concerning any accounts, and to implement, carry out and maintain security measures aimed at protecting You and our other Users from identity theft, fraud and unauthorized access to User Accounts.
Verification documents 2.4 You may choose to verify your identity, your professional licence or a property You list, by giving us documents such as government identification, proof of address or proof that You may let the property. These documents are reviewed by members of the Travel Nurse Houses team; no outside service reads them. To check a property, we may compare its address with the location of your device at the moment You ask us to, if You allow it; that location is erased within 30 days. Verification documents are deleted 90 days after our team's decision on them. Verification is optional.
Bookings 2.5 When You send a request to book, make a booking or host one, Travel Nurse Houses keeps its details: the home, the dates, the people involved, the messages exchanged, and payment records such as invoices and proof of payment.
Payment information 2.6 Card payments are processed by our Payment Processor, Stripe. Travel Nurse Houses does not receive or store your full card number; we may show the card brand and last four digits that Stripe provides.
Messages 2.7 Messages You send on the Platform are delivered to the people in the conversation and stored by us. To keep Users safe, we automatically check messages for phone numbers, email addresses, links and similar contact details, and mark the messages that contain them; marked messages can be seen by our team. We may also show a warning in your browser when a message mentions a common payment scam. No outside service reads your messages.
Photos and files 2.8 Photos You add to a listing or to your profile are public. Before a photo is shown to anyone, we remove the details your camera adds to it, such as where and when it was taken and the device used.
Reviews 2.9 Travel Nurse Houses may offer You the opportunity to submit a review of Hosts or Guests on the Platform. When your review is published, the results may be made available to Guests or Hosts in appropriate circumstances. You also consent to us using such reviews in any marketing or advertising materials.
Important notifications 2.10 Travel Nurse Houses may use your Personal Data to contact You for your views regarding Travel Nurse Houses and to notify You occasionally about important changes or developments to the Platform, products, services or your account. You cannot opt out of receiving notifications of important changes or developments (e.g the General Terms and Conditions including this Privacy Policy) unless You discontinue use of the Platform.
Marketing communication 2.11 You agree that we may use your Personal Data to let You know about homes, events, products and services that may be of interest to You, for example a weekly selection of homes, news about homes You have saved, how your listings are doing, and offers for Hosts. We send these by email only, never by text message or push notification, and no more than one a day and three a week. Travel Nurse Houses sends these communications where You have consented to receive them or such consent has been deemed to have been given under applicable law. You can stop them at any time: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and You can turn off offers and tips, or any kind of email, in your notification settings.
Text messages 2.11A If You give Travel Nurse Houses a mobile phone number, we may send You text messages about your account, sign-in and verification codes, reservations, and messages from other Users. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the categories of sharing described in this Privacy Policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Referrals 2.12 The referral, "share" and other similar features on the Platform permit You to send an email to other individuals that may be interested in Travel Nurse Houses. This feature may require You to submit your name and email address, as well as the name and email address of the recipient. Travel Nurse Houses does not use the names or email addresses submitted in these circumstances for any other purpose without the consent of You or the email recipient to do so. It is your responsibility to ensure that You only submit email addresses of individuals with whom You have a personal or family relationship and who would want to receive the message.
Job inquiries 2.13 In connection with a job application or related inquiry, You may provide us with Personal Data including a resume, cover letter, or similar employment-related materials. This information will be used for the purposes of processing and responding to your application for current and future career opportunities, and to manage any ongoing working relationship.
Host inquiries 2.14 You may apply to become a Host on the Platform by providing us with your name, phone number, email address, physical address as well as other information and materials we may request as part of your application. In most instances, this information would be considered business contact information rather than Personal Data. Travel Nurse Houses uses this information for the purpose of processing and responding to your application, and to manage any ongoing relationship with Guests and other parties.
Surveys 2.15 From time to time, Travel Nurse Houses may offer You the opportunity to participate in one of our surveys or other research, or to provide feedback regarding your stay or experience with Travel Nurse Houses. The information obtained through our surveys and research is used in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable form to help us understand users of the Platform and to enhance our product and service offerings.
Promotions 2.16 When You enter a contest or participate in a promotion, Travel Nurse Houses may collect your name, address, phone number, email address, and other information You provide. This information is used to administer your participation in the contest or promotion.
General contacts 2.17 When You contact us with a comment or question, we collect the information You provide such as your name and email address, along with additional information that we may need to help us promptly respond to your inquiry. Travel Nurse Houses retains this information to assist You in the future and to improve our customer service and service offerings. Travel Nurse Houses also uses Personal Data to establish and manage our relationship with You and provide quality service. When You open a help request, we may use an artificial intelligence service to help draft our reply from your message and the details of your User Account.
3. COOKIES
What a cookie is 3.1 A cookie is a tiny element of data that the Platform can send to your browser, which may then be stored on your web browser or mobile device so we can recognize You when You return. The information that cookies collect includes the date and time of your visit, your registration information, session identification number, and your navigational history and preferences.
Use of cookies 3.2 Travel Nurse Houses uses cookies for analytics purposes as well as for certain features of the Platform. The use of cookies is an industry standard and many major browsers and smartphones are initially set up to accept them. You may set your web browser or smartphone to notify You when You receive a cookie or to not accept certain cookies. However, if You decide not to accept cookies from the Platform, You may not be able to take advantage of all its features.
Analytics 3.3 With your consent, given through the cookie banner, Travel Nurse Houses uses Google Analytics and PostHog to understand how the Platform is used. They receive the pages You visit, what You click, your browser and device details and, if You are signed in, an internal account number (never your name or email address). We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies. Separately, our own servers record when a listing is viewed or a Host is contacted, with the page address, the referring page, the type of device and the IP address, so that we can show Hosts how their listings are doing.
3.4 Google Analytics and PostHog set their own cookies when You consent to analytics cookies. You can obtain additional information on Google Analytics’ collection and processing of data and data privacy and security, including how to learn more about opting out of Google Analytics’ data collection by visiting the Google Analytics website.
No advertising 3.5 Travel Nurse Houses does not use advertising cookies or advertising networks, does not show You advertising based on your activity, and does not sell your Personal Data or share it with anyone for their advertising.
Service providers 3.6 We use the following kinds of service providers to run the Platform. Each receives only the Personal Data it needs for its task and acts on our instructions: hosting and database (Vercel, Neon); file storage and delivery of photos and documents (Amazon Web Services); email (Amazon Web Services); text messages and sign-in codes (Twilio); maps, address search and address lookup (Google Maps Platform); card payments (Stripe); help-desk replies and listing safety review, which receive your help request and listing text (Anthropic); analytics, after your consent (Google Analytics, PostHog); and app notifications (Expo).
No third-party advertising audiences 3.7 Travel Nurse Houses never gives your email address, in plain or hashed form, or any other information about You to an advertising platform or social network to target advertisements. This never includes your mobile phone number or text-message opt-in data and consent, which are not shared with any third party (see 2.11A).
Location of servers 3.8 The Personal Data You provide to us will be held on our servers which may be in Canada, the United States, or Ireland. In addition, your Personal Data may be accessed by or given to our staff working outside Canada or to third parties including our subsidiaries, holding companies, and affiliates, who act for us for the purposes set out in this policy or for other purposes notified to You. This never includes your mobile phone number or text-message opt-in data and consent, which are not shared with any third party (see 2.11A).
Outside Canada 3.9 While your Personal Data is out of Canada, it is subject to the laws of the country in which it is held, and may be subject to disclosure to the governments, courts or law enforcement or regulatory agencies of such other country, pursuant to the laws of such country. Certain countries or regions outside Canada do not always have equivalent strong data protection laws irrespective of the safeguards we have put in place for the protection of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
3.10 Third parties with whom we share your information may undertake various activities such as processing card payments and providing services or products for us. In addition, we provide your Personal Data to the Host or traveler You request or make a booking with, and to an agency You work with, as needed for the booking. By submitting your Personal Data, You agree to this transfer, storing or processing. Travel Nurse Houses will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your Personal Data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This never includes your mobile phone number or text-message opt-in data and consent, which are not shared with any third party (see 2.11A).
Contact by third parties 3.11 Travel Nurse Houses does not allow third parties, including marketing and advertising companies, to contact You about their products or services. Your mobile phone number and text-message opt-in data and consent are never shared with these parties, and they will not text You on our behalf (see 2.11A).
Sharing of data in business reorganization 3.12 If our business enters into a joint venture with, purchases or is sold to or merged with another business entity, your Personal Data may be disclosed or transferred to the our new business partners or owners or their advisors provided that the information disclosed continues to be used for the purposes permitted by this Privacy Policy by the entity acquiring the information.
Compelled disclosures 3.13 Travel Nurse Houses may use the Personal Data that You provide to us if we are under a duty to disclose or share your Personal Data in order to comply with (or where we believe we are under a duty to comply with) any applicable legal obligation; or in order to enforce the General Terms and Conditions and any other agreement we have with You. This includes exchanging Personal Data with other persons and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and prevention. Travel Nurse Houses and our service providers may use or disclose your Personal Data in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order, or to another organization for the purposes of investigating a breach of an agreement or contravention of law or detecting, suppressing or preventing fraud, or as otherwise required or permitted by applicable law or legal process. Your Personal Data may also be used or disclosed where necessary or desirable for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and to investigate or prevent actual or suspected loss or harm to persons or property.
4. DATA PROTECTION
Data protection measures 4.1 Travel Nurse Houses implements administrative, technical and physical measures to protect your Personal Data from unauthorized access and against unlawful processing, accidental loss, destruction and damage. Travel Nurse Houses restrict access to your Personal Data to Travel Nurse Houses personnel and authorized service providers who require access to fulfill their job requirements.
Retention of data 4.2 Travel Nurse Houses keeps your Personal Data while You have a User Account, and for no longer than these periods: records of visits to the Platform, search records, and records of sign-ins, including IP addresses and the location worked out from them, are deleted or stripped of the IP address after 12 months; identity, address and property documents You give us for verification are deleted 90 days after our team's decision on them; the location of your device used to check a property is erased within 30 days; and booking, invoice and payment records are kept for 6 years to meet Canadian tax law. When You delete your User Account, your Personal Data is erased 30 days later, as described in section 6, except that messages and reviews You wrote stay with the people they were written to, shown as written by a “Former member”, and booking, invoice and payment records are kept for the 6 years. We may keep records needed to prevent fraud or abuse, or as required or permitted by law, and aggregated information that does not identify You. All retained Personal Data will remain subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy.
No guarantees of security on internet 4.3 The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will take steps to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data or other data transmitted to the Platform. Any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your Personal Data, we will use organizational and technical safeguards to try to prevent unauthorized access.
Third-party websites 4.4 The Platform contains links to third party websites, which are not governed by this Privacy Policy, and Travel Nurse Houses is not responsible for the collection, use or disclosure of Personal Data by such third-party websites. When You click on such a link, You will leave our service and go to another site. During this process, another entity may collect Personal Data from You.
5. YOUR RIGHTS AND ENTITLEMENTS
Corrections and updates 5.1 You have the right to access, update and correct inaccuracies in your Personal Data in our custody and control, and to delete your User Account (see section 6), subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law. You may request access, updating and corrections of inaccuracies in other Personal Data we have in our custody or control by emailing or writing to us at the contact information set out below. Travel Nurse Houses may request certain Personal Data for the purposes of verifying the identity of the individual seeking access to their Personal Data records and may restrict access to Personal Data as required or permitted by applicable law or legal process.
Modifications and withdrawals of consent 5.2 You may withdraw or modify your consent to any ongoing and future collection and use of Personal Data at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions, provided that reasonable notice is given to us. If You withdraw your consent to receive information regarding certain products, publications, services or events being offered by Travel Nurse Houses, You will no longer receive those types of communications.

6. DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT
How to delete your account 6.1 You can delete your User Account in our mobile application, under Profile, then Account settings, then Delete account, or on the website, at the bottom of your profile. If You cannot sign in, email support@travelnursehouses.ca from the address on your User Account with the subject “Delete my account”, and we will check that the request came from You and delete it for You. These steps are also set out at travelnursehouses.ca/delete-account.
What happens at once 6.2 When You delete your User Account it is closed and hidden from other Users, You are signed out on every device, paid plans are cancelled, your listings are taken down, and requests You sent or received that are still waiting are declined.
What is erased after 30 days 6.3 Thirty days after You ask, we erase your name, photo and profile, your phone number and email address, the documents and files You uploaded, your listings and their photos, the ways You sign in (and we tell Apple, if You signed in with Apple), your saved homes, searches and preferences, and the records of sign-ins and visits linked to your User Account.
What is kept 6.4 Messages and reviews You wrote stay for the people You wrote them to, shown as written by a “Former member”. Booking, invoice and payment records are kept for 6 years, as Canadian tax law requires, and then erased.
Changing your mind 6.5 If You sign in within 30 days of asking, we keep your User Account. Your listings stay paused until You publish them again. After 30 days your User Account cannot be restored.
When deletion has to wait 6.6 We cannot delete a User Account while a stay is booked or under way, while money for a stay is still owed, or while You are the only owner of an agency that has other members. We will tell You what is in the way.
